TAKE ACTION TODAY TO PROTECT OUR LIFELINE!

Encouraging News from DC: Republican Senators Cassidy and Portman filed an amendment to the budget resolution that would delay the deadline for Committees to report their policies for reconciliation from January 27 to March 3, indicating their strong preference that replacement policies be developed to include in the package. The list of co-sponsors for this amendment is growing. It is possible that Senators could vote on this amendment as early as January 11. If you’d like to act, we encourage you to contact Senator Gardner and Senator Bennet and ask them to vote YES on the Cassidy, Portman amendment to the budget resolution.

TAKE ACTION!!

Here is a sample message:

Dear Senator (Gardner / Bennet)

I am writing you today to urge you to vote YES on the Cassidy, Portman amendment to the budget resolution. Health care is essential to people’s quality of life, a significant economic driver in Colorado and nationally and a major piece of all state and local government responsibility and budgets. Consumers, businesses and governments all need the stability of understanding the federal framework in which they will operate going forward. As such, changes to the Affordable Care Act and related federal health policies should be made only with a clearly identified and carefully considered replacement plan. The Cassidy, Portman amendment provides policymakers additional time to develop alternative policies before repealing major components of the Affordable Care Act.
