Throughout our 2019 Indy Give! campaign, we’ve been talking about the importance of vision, as having a vision for your life is often the first step toward achieving your dreams and goals. People with intellectual and developmental disabilities are no different, and also have visions for their lives.

Through The Arc Pikes Peak Region’s Building for Change Life Skills Resource Center, we will encourage people of all abilities to uncover their visions for their lives and learn the skills needed to make them a reality. This week, we are excited to highlight Special Olympics Athlete and Long-Distance Runner, Kimiko.

I have always had a passion for sports. With a lot of hard work and determination, I have been able to achieve my vision of becoming a long-distance runner. I’ve successfully run several half-marathons, and I have a dream of one day running a full marathon.

We need your help to achieve our vision of creating an inclusive personal development center for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities!
