A little over a week ago, 94 non-profits in the Pikes Peak Region kicked off a two-month fundraising campaign called IndyGive! This campaign runs from November 1st to December 31st and is aimed at getting the community to give back to local non-profits. Leading up to the campaign, the organizations participating have the opportunity to gather businesses and organizations that will agree to be matching donors and encourage the community to give back. The Arc Pikes Peak Region has 12 generous matching donors who have all agreed to be matching donors during the 2018 IndyGive! campaign. One of our donors is Personal Assistance Services of Colorado.

For over 25 years, Personal Assistance Services of Colorado has been helping people with disabilities live independently, through advocacy, support and compassion. In their years of service, PASCO has worked with several Arc chapters along the Front Range. In an interview, PASCO’s marketing manager Jason Schlosky, said that “The work the different Arc chapters do is something that aligns with PASCO’s mission and ideas. We appreciate the efforts that are put forth from the chapters across the state of Colorado.”

PASCO believes that the alignment with doing the right things for our friends, that are often marginalized, has allowed them to partner with the work of The Arc. The organization sees a community need for an organization that can advocate for families and individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and that is what The Arc PPR provides to the community, free of charge.

“We believe that together we can be stronger to serve one of the greatest communities in Colorado.”

A word of encouragement from the PASCO community during this Give! season, is that they want everyone to know that they are not alone in this journey. There are plenty of resources, advocates and organizations like The Arc Pikes Peak Region who are allies within the Pikes Peak community.

The funds raised during this campaign will be put towards The Arc PPR’s Building for Change campaign. This is a capital campaign to turn 10 and 12 N Meade into an all-inclusive facility for the community The Arc Pikes Peak Region serves and their families. The new building will be home to a teaching kitchen, a resource library and a computer lab to help teach individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities how to live more independently.

Thank you, PASCO, for the work you do and for supporting The Arc Pikes Peak Region.
