The Arc Pikes Peak Region is thrilled to announce that we will be hosting a 4-part parent workshop series exploring children’s sensory systems! Each workshop builds upon the previous one. For example, Workshop II will be individualized for the parent and child based on a needs assessment determined in Workshop I. This series will be presented by Kate Lovato, Occupational Therapist and owner of Flourish Infant and Pediatric Therapy Services. Kate specializes in childhood neurodevelopmental disorders, sensory processing delays, and infant development. The workshop series will cover the development of the sensory system, how sensory needs present themselves in children’s behavior, how parents can identify and support their child’s unique sensory needs, and how parents can coregulate with their child. In the first workshop of this 4-part series, Kate will cover brain development, the brain ‘hierarchy of needs’, sensory processing, and much more! You won’t want to miss this opportunity- space is limited to the first 50 registrations.
