Vision is an important part of living the life you were made for. Thinking about your vision for your life is often the first step toward achieving your dreams and goals, and people with intellectual and developmental disabilities are no different.

Through The Arc Pikes Peak Region’s Building for Change Life Skills Resource Center, we will encourage people of all abilities to uncover their vision for their lives and learn the skills needed to make it a reality. Over the past few weeks, we’ve highlighted outstanding individuals who have a vision for their life! Today, we invite you to meet Avery, an elementary school-aged girl whose vision is be herself!  In a world where we are often told who we need to be, Avery’s perspective is a refreshing one.

Live, love, learn and play… all in my own way! My vision is to be independent, happy, and just me be!

Avery's vision to be herself.

We need your help to achieve our vision of creating an inclusive personal development center for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities!

You can donate to The Arc Pikes Peak Region through Indy Give! until December 31, 2019!  All proceeds will benefit The Arc PPR’s Building for Change Capital Campaign, and will help people like Avery to realize their life vision by learning job skills, budgeting, nutrition, and many other skills!
