Welcome to The Arc Pikes Peak Region!

Welcome to The Arc Pikes Peak Region, where individuals with I/DD voices are heard and abilities are recognized.

Founded in 1955 and serving El Paso, Teller and Park Counties, The Arc Pikes Peak Region is one of more than 700 chapters of The Arc across the United States. By joining our network of more than 140,000 members, you can be a part of the largest grassroots movement to protect the rights of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD), promoting quality of life for all people, and helping people with I/DD reach their dreams and achieve their goals through exceptional advocacy and a fundamental belief in everyone’s ability to thrive. Be a part of the movement to empower our community to recognize that all people deserve respect, understanding, inclusion and opportunities in all aspects of society.
A key aspect of propelling this movement into the future is The Arc Pikes Peak Region’s “Building for Change: An Inclusive Campus” campaign. This is a capital campaign to reconstruct The Arc Pikes Peak Region’s current facilities at 10 & 12 N. Meade Avenue. The inclusive campus will be a community hub where individuals of all abilities can come together to learn, socialize and interact. Community members of all abilities will benefit from the many resources available on the campus, including: a library with legal resources, a computer room, a teaching kitchen and garden, expanded office space, classrooms and a multipurpose room available for use by partner organizations and businesses. A community thrives when all of its members are valued and included.

I wanted to take time to write a letter saying how much I appreciate Hannah Widmer coming to my son's (Blake's) IEP meeting. She was professional, confident, and caring. She helped keep the meeting calm, when I got frustrated. She provided an educated, rational, voice of reason. It was so nice to have someone else at the meeting with Blake's best interest at heart, advocating for him. Her knowledge of the law impressed me. The meeting would have been much longer and would not have gone so well without her. The service that Ms. Widmer provided was INVALUABLE and I can't say thank you enough. Please let me know if there is anyone else I can thank for providing this important service.

The Arc is the heart of our I/DD community!! Christina is such as asset to our field and community because she is dedicated to not only improving the lives of people we support, she is dedicated to helping all agencies become Person Centered! She is willing (and has) trained people outside The Arc. She is dedicated to ensuring PASAs act in an ethical way to enrich the quality of services and lives of people! It’s wonderful to be a part of a community that works together and truly cares about how services are delivered and the people they support!
