Our 20th gem is former board member of The Arc of the United States Joseph Meadours. Joe is a leader of the People First self-advocacy movement. Joe has held state leadership positions and is an advocate for people with disabilities.
Joe has served on a variety of boards for disability related nonprofits around the country.
In 2005 Joe paid a visit to chapters of The Arc in Colorado where he presented on self-advocacy and the importance of using people first language.
