Our 16th gem is Colorado Springs arc Thrift Stores (managers, employees and volunteers). The Arc Pikes Peak Region is primarily funded through arc Thrift- the proceeds from Arc thrift support the 12 advocacy chapters in Colorado. Colorado Springs is lucky to have 4 thrift stores in the city. Besides being exceptional thrift stores each of these stores hires individuals with disabilities and are an employer of other significantly challenged populations, including refugees, people from substance abuse programs, people from homeless programs, women from safe houses, etc.
Besides The Arc Pikes Peak Region, arc Thrift supports other community organizations and events in Colorado Springs. A special thank you to the store managers Susan (South Academy), Carol (Uintah), Dan (Austin Bluffs), and Angel (North Academy) for being outstanding managers and advocates for individuals with disabilities.
