robert perskeOur 5th gem is Robert Perske. Bob is widely known and loved as a writer and advocate for people with disabilities, and a longtime friend and supporter of The Arc Pikes Peak Region.

Bob is a national expert in the field of false confessions. He became the only non-lawyer to ever receive the American Bar Association’s Paul Hearne Award for Services to Persons with Disabilities in 2002.

Bob, author of Deadly Innocence, was the driving force behind the posthumously pardon of Joe Arridy, a man with an intellectual disability wrongly executed in the 1930s.

Bob Perske is the namesake of The Arc PPR’s Bob Perske Justice for All Award recognizing professionals who are working towards achieving positive outcomes for people with I/DD who find themselves involved in the criminal justice system
