Our 51st gem is The Arc PPR’s Director of Guardianship Programs Christina Butero. Christina has been with The Arc since 2008, but has worked with children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities for almost 20 years,Director of Guardianship Programs Christina Butero previously holding positions at The Resource Exchange and Bethphage. Christina earned an Associate of Arts Degree in Psychology from Trinidad State Junior College and a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Mass Communication from the University of Southern Colorado (renamed Colorado State University at Pueblo).

For Christina, working at The Arc PPR was a life’s dream and she feels fortunate to have that dream fulfilled.  Christina also received her Christina received The Arc Pikes Peak Region’s Don Haney Award in 2005 and the President’s Award in 2012.

Christina is a tireless advocate for individuals I/DD and all people, using her time both on and off the job to ensure that people with disabilities are living the lives they deserve to live. Christina is also an avid Yankee Fan and an amazing cook. Nobody makes better birthday cakes or flour tortillas.
