Our second gem is Dr. John K. Sterrett (1922-1983), the namesake of The Arc Pikes Peak Region’s office building at 12 N. Meade Avenue. Dr. Sterrett was an accomplished scientist, philosopher, professor, and humanitarian. Dr. Sterrett held degrees from 16 schools and was a member of multiple fraternities, professional societies, and local organizations. Dr. Sterrett served as president of The Arc of Colorado and the El Paso County Arc, Dr. Sterrett also served as a on the board of the National Arc.
