Our 14th gem is Peggy (1914-2006) and Ellen Marshall. Peggy Marshall is well known in the Colorado Springs disability community, having been responsible for founding The Arc Pikes Peak Region as well as the organization that evolved into TRE – The Resource Exchange, Cheyenne Village and other disability focused non profits.

Peggy also co founded the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center’s Tactile Gallery. Peggy Marshall fought for disability rights in Colorado Springs and strongly believed in the importance of an inclusive community for people of all abilities.

Peggy’s daughter Ellen has followed in her mother footsteps working to ensure that individuals with disabilities are being respected. Ellen currently serves on The Arc Pikes Peak Region Board of Directors and is active in the community advocating for individuals with disabilities. ‪#‎60gemsofTheArcPikesPeakRegion‬
